Referee Requirements for Redwood Games - Club referee assignors must provide one (1) qualified referee and two (2) qualified assistant referees for their teams.
- The center referee shall be older than the age group being officiated, preferably two years older.
- Scheduled referees may not be related to a game participant.
- Club referee assignors must carefully consider the experience of the assigned referee and the skill level and age of the players.
- Only the diagonal system of control is to be used.
- 'Club linesmen' may be used when necessary, however, they may only call 'out of bounds'.
- If the above requirements are not satisfied or if a scheduled referee fails to appear for a game, and the managers or coaches of both teams choose to play the game, the result of the game shall be deemed official.
