UTF8 in database values

There are different character sets that can be used.

Alphanumeric  which has a-z, A-Z and 0-9

ASCII which includes symbols that you will find on the keyboard like + - * /

UTF8 which includes more symbols

When data includes symbols that have meaning in HTML, problems can occur.   Symbols like  @ > < / \ "

These types of symbols are often not restricted from use, but if they are  used, they will cause output or display problems.   BE AWARE
