Match Cards

Not addressed in league rules.  

Team benches / Spectators

Teams on one side. Spectators on other side.  Rules specifically state "no yelling at the referee".  Coaches are responsible for spectator behavior.  

Passes/Roster

Players - Must have a pass OR be listed on the printed roster.     

Send offs / Incident Reports / Concussion Protocol

Not addressed in league rules.

Start of game

Home team chooses side.   Visitors kick off.  

Free kicks

All free kicks are indirect.   No Penalty Kicks. 

Player uniform

Required.  Shin guards - required.  Cleats  - required.  

Substitutions

  • On own throw in
  • On own goal kick
  • Injuries (either/both teams)
  • Kickoffs
  • Quarter breaks
  • NOT on corner kicks

Blow Out Rule

Blowout scores are outside the spirit of the game and are discouraged. Not the referee's job, but might be helpful in match management to mention to coach of the team that is winning. U09 and above, score differential over 5 is considered a blowout.  

Deliberate Heading

No deliberate heading.

Ball Size

U06 - U08=> Size 3: ... ... U09-U13 => Size 4

4 v 4    U06-U08

    • No offside.
    • No goalkeeper.  There is a "no park" arc in front of goal.  May not park defender to defend goal in or just outside the arc.  
    • Four 10 minute quarters.   Call quarter break to facilitate substitutions.
    • 5 minute half time.  
    • Misconduct.   Do not show cards.  Can still warn and/or dismiss.  
    • Retake and instruct illegal throw-ins

5 v 5     U09-U13

    • Goalkeeper
    • Offside
    • Two 25 minute halves.
    • 5-10 minute half time.
    • Illegal throw-in.  Retake twice per team per game.   On third infraction, award to other team.
