SF Celtic Cup Tournament Rules Summary
This rules summary is provided to the referees as a service. These are not the official rules of the competition. NO warranty is made that this summary is up to date.

Passes
Player and coach passes are required. Acceptable player and coach credentials are current, laminated:
- US Soccer Club player and coach passes
- USYSA (CYSA) passes.
All teams must have in their possession for each player a medical release form. An official team roster is required.
Spectators
Coaches are responsible for their supporters. No noisemakers (bells, horns, etc.) permitted. No alcohol. No pets.
Guest Players. Maximum # Dressed Players.
Guest players are permitted. CYSA guest player or USClub player loan form is required.
- 7v7 -- 5 guest players maximum. 14 players dressed for any game. # Players minimum to start or continue not in rules.
- 9v9 -- 5 guest players maximum. 16 players dressed for any game. # Players minimum to start or continue not in rules.
- 11v11 -- 7 guest players maximum. 18 players dressed for any game. 7 Players minimum to start or continue.
Send offs
Referees complete a sendoff report - see the field marshal. Pass is retained by the field marshal.
Any player, coach, assistant coach, or registered team official who is dismissed, sent off or receives a red card will automatically be suspended from that team's next game in the tournament. At the discretion of the Tournament Director, violent conduct or extreme abuse, dissent, or disrespect ejections may result in suspension from more than one game, up to the remainder of the tournament.

U11 and younger
- No deliberate heading. Award IFK
Substitutions
Free substitutions at these stoppages:
- Prior to a throw-in in your favor or in the opponent’s favor if they originated their own substitution. (me too)
- Prior to a goal kick by either team.
- After a goal by either team.
- During an injury stoppage. Any player may be substituted.
- During half time. During the break between regular play and overtime. During the break 1/2 way through overtime.
- A player who has received a yellow card may be immediately substituted. No other players at this stoppage.
Match Length
U08-U10 (7v7) -- 20 minute halves
U11-U12 (9v9) -- 25 minute halves
U13-U18 (11v11) -- 30 minute halves
Half time will be five minutes.
The length of any game may be shortened to shorter but equal halves if the referee or Tournament Director deems it necessary due to field conditions, weather, or darkness.
SemiFinal Matches
IF a semi-final match requiring a winner is tied at the end of regulation play, the game will be decided by kicks from the mark.
Championship and Consolation Matches
IF a match requiring a winner is tied at the end of regulation play, two 5-minute overtime periods will be played to completion. Golden Goal rule will NOT apply. If the game is still tied at the completion of the overtime periods, the game will be decided by kicks from the mark. At the discretion of the Tournament Director, overtime periods may be shortened or eliminated if the game has been significantly delayed at the start.
Player Safety
Casts, air splints, metal splints. braces at the discretion of the referee. Not addressed in rules.
Concussion. Not addressed in rules. Use NorCal Premier protocols i.e. When the official observes a player that
- sustained a significant blow to the head, or
- sustained a significant blow to the body, or
- complains about symptoms consistent with having sustained a concussion, or
- exhibits symptoms consistent with having suffered a concussion, or
- is otherwise suspected of having sustained a concussion
the player will be removed from the match and not allowed to further participate in the match.(USClub Soccer rules not local rules.)
Home Team
The team listed first on the schedule is the home team. Home team to wear dark colored jerseys. If there is a conflict in team colors, as determined by the referee, the home team shall switch to an alternate jersey or alternate uniform pieces.
